Catching Up With Misc. Goods Co.

A year ago, Access Ventures gave our first Growth Loan to Tyler Deeb of Misc. Goods Co. Back in 2012, Misc. Goods Co. launched after a widely successful Kickstarter campaign focused on a newly designed deck of playing cards. Since then, Misc. Goods Co. has built an online presence with an e-commerce store, wholesale to retailers, and has increased their product offerings to include more playing cards, ceramic flasks, wallets, shirts and Coil, a new product that cools coffee quickly without watering it down.

We caught up with the Misc. Goods Co. team to take a few photos as they prepared for a pop-up shop event this weekend. It’s one of the few times their e-commerce store turns into a local retail shop.

We believe that small business owners are the unsung heroes in communities and deserve a better solution that enables their business to flourish. Our Growth Loan went to help Tyler and his business secure purchasing discounts, increase inventory, and add a part-time employee. Since this time, Misc. Goods Co. has grown the team and received further national attention for its products.

The pop-up shop will be located at Forest Giant, 2858 Frankfort Ave., and will feature not only Misc. Goods Co. products, but a wide variety of other products from high-quality, American-made brands from all over the country. Check out their event page for more information.
