Overview
Handshake is a decentralized alternative to the Domain Name System (DNS). Through the use of a native blockchain, Handshake is able to coordinate and secure a decentralized naming system, enabling domain names on the internet to function without relying on centralized actors, who are subject to hacking, censorship, and corruption.
Why Handshake
A decentralized and permissionless domain naming system is key to an internet that is ultimately more secure, resilient, and open to innovation. Furthermore, Handshake names have the potential to catalyze the adoption of distributed ledger technology by abstracting for end-users the more technical complexities of decentralized wallets and identities.
