What Causes Homelessness?
Homelessness. Every person who has or is experiencing homelessness has their own story, their own unique circumstances, and their own reasons for why or how they are living without a home. Often times we can paint the narrative of homelessness with a broad brush and make assumptions about individuals experiencing homelessness.
The causes of homelessness are complex and there are many different opinions on why people experience it. We took to the street to ask people we met what they thought caused homelessness. Watch the video below to see how people responded. Then ask yourself, how would you have responded?
