The Park

Overview

Opened in the Fall of 2014 and located in Shelby Park, The Park is a members-only shared workspace and coworking community in Louisville. The Park is dedicated to ending all of the frustrations of working the old way in an office. It is a space that caters to passionate people, and it is an open place for people of all kinds. We believe that working in community inspires innovation—so if we can help someone, we will. We created The Park to support people building a better world and to fill a demand for shared workspace before coworking was so popular. It’s a place for change-makers to find community with others that desire to impact their community around them.

How We Helped

Access Ventures purchased and renovated an abandoned repair shop and turned it into a co-working space. We organized volunteers and provided contract work for people in the neighborhood to assist with its renovation. Initially, the vision was an office for Access Ventures with expanded space for the community, but quickly demand for The Park and a growing Access Ventures team shifted the function of the space to a full-time shared workspace in 2016. Access Ventures employs a Community Manager to oversee the community and the operations of The Park.
